Curtains and Blinds
Well made, interlined curtains and blinds are a wonderfully simple way to help insulate your home. Recent research has shown that a saving of up to 20% can be made on household heating bills if doors and windows are properly covered. Don't forget that curtains are not just for windows! Door curtains are wonderful for keeping rooms cosy and a curtain across an alcove could hide storage.
Whatever design treatment you are looking for, I would be delighted to chat to you about your requirements, measure your window or door, advise on the most suitable solution and calculate the quantities of fabric you need.
I have a wealth of fabric sources and can arrange for samples to be sent to you directly. When you have made your choice, I will order the fabric and can arrange for delivery and hanging once the curtains or blinds are completed.
All the linings and interlinings I use are made from natural fibres and are in neutral colours, unless you specifically would like something a little more left-field, a contrasting stripe for example. Fringes and pompoms add an extra dimension to both curtains and blinds and can transform a plain fabric.
Curtains can either be with triple pleats or goblets on fixed buckram heading or on pencil pleat tape.
All my linings are sewn in by hand and I use either reliable roman blind header systems, in line with the new safety regulations, or covered wooden batons.
I recommend dry-cleaning for all my curtains and my blinds, but can also scotch guard particular fabrics if required.
